My Sleeping Karma - Stoned Jesus - Somali Yacht Club
InformationenMy Sleeping Karma
MY SLEEPING KARMA is a German Instrumental Quatuor that takes you into a mind-blowing sonic experience. They are no beginners, no amateurs, and when they hop on stage they make you forget about everything around you: they take you by the hand into the deepest and hidden corners of your very soul.
MY SLEEPING KARMA combines the organic aspect of psychedelic groove rock with emotional shades of aphasian landscapes. That was the intention of the debut album and it still remains. Guitar, bass and drums in love with a soundboard.
The fourth album "Soma" follows the band’s own individualistic and atmospheric path towards enlightenment. Following the meaning of the album title ("Soma" is the intoxicating drink of the gods), the instrumental Psychedelic Groove Rock of the German quartet enhances the consciousness in a truly hypnotic and bewitching manner. The multilayered compositions move skilfully between heavy rock riffs and enchanting melodic parts with a high level of calmness and beauty.
With "Moskha" their fifth album released in the Spring 2015, MY SLEEPING KARMA achieved their strongest record to date. The sound and tone of the album perfectly fits into the Instrumental Progressive – and Ambient Post Rock realms. From the start the listener is kidnapped by the spherical sound, between enormous atmospheric compositions with pure rock riffs and psychedelic melodies perfectly intertwined into this scenery. Immerse yourself, both with the risk of completely losing yourself in this brand new masterpiece, because you might not be able to emerge again.
In February 2017, MSK released a live album "Mela Ananda" on Napalm Records, that was followed by a 3-week European tour with Colour Haze in March!
STONED JESUS hails from Kiev, Ukraine, and they are doubtlessly the biggest band to emerge on Eastern Europe's stoner/psychedelic/doom scene recently. Started in 2009 by guitarist/vocalist Igor as his solo project, they toured Russia and Ukraine in early 2010, releasing their highly-anticipated debut "First Communion" few months later (re-released on vinyl in Spring 2013).
2011 saw them changing direction on "Stormy Monday" EP and more shows followed, confirming their reputation as one of the most spectacular bands to experience live. Recorded late 2011, STONED JESUS' second full-length "Seven Thunders Roar" showed their constant desire to reach beyond and push forward. Less doom and more psychedelic, it peaks with 16-min long "I'm The Mountain" epic, the most progressive and ambitious track from the band so far. Released in Spring/Summer 2012, it has become the most requested item on their European tours
They began 2013 with a new drummer Viktor, a new video and a new 7" released just before another tour. In August, they self-released a compilation of jams and improvisations "The Seed, Vol. 1", a download-only collection serving as a fundraising weapon for their next full-length "The Harvest", released on February 24th 2015, and followed by a European Tour in March!
In 2017, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of "Seven Thunders Roar", they performed sets featuring their most famous album in its entirety. They released their latest and most experimental album to date, "Pilgrims" on September 7th 2018 via Napalm Records, and will be touring a lot in 2018/2019 to support it!
